We crushed it!

Matt Browman, buyer at Highlander Wines toured the Okanagan Valley this summer and here is what he had to say…
“Meyer Family 2010 Tribute Series Chardonnay Sonja Gaudet
I was not aware of the Meyer Family before the tour. Funny since I worked and instructed with two of the original masterminds behind the venture, both MW’s. Also a ‘Best Winery’ choice, the Pinot Noirs were reminiscent of Quails’ Gate’s pretty expression, with similarly soft fruit from the Canyon View vineyard and more depth, subtlety and specificity in the McLean Creek. But the Chardonnay was a revelation. At once generous and fine, the nose showed caramel apple, toast and melon aromas with outstanding acidity that carried through more caramel, toast and melon flavours, then continued on with impressive length. Somehow balancing ripeness (caramel & melon), freshness (green apple) and well integrated oak (toast and caramel) as well as richness and focus, there was little to nothing wrong with this wine.”
