Great reviews of our 2014 wines!

Great reviews of our 2014 wines!

We had the pleasure of hosting esteemed wine judge and writer for Wine Align, David Lawrason, earlier this month and enjoyed the opportunity to share our new 2014 wines with him. David reviewed and wrote up a few of our new wines and we’re thrilled to have received over 90 Points on most of the wines he tasted!

Here are the reviews which can also be found on winealign.com:

2014 Reimer Vineyard Pinot Noir

92 Points ~ “Purchased from low-cropped old vines in East Kelowna, this has a lovely floral cherry/cran/blueberry fruit nose, with some herbs and cinnamon. Very refined aromatics. It is mid-weight with a some silk mid-palate yet bitterness on the finish. Great acidity and intensity, with excellent to outstanding length.”

2014 Tribute Series Chardonnay – Art & Viv Meyer

91 Points ~ “From a vineyard planted in 1994 that has an unusual east facing away-from-lake-later-picked aspect in Naramata, this sports an intense, complex nose of peach custard, butterscotch, peat smoke plus caraway/fennel. A bit reductive with some chive as well. Quite full bodied, sweetish and rich with some peanut brittle character. Full bore chardonnay yet buoyed by fine acidity. Excellent length.”

Tasted February 2016.

2014 McLean Creek Road Vineyard Chardonnay

91 Points ~ “From the home estate site in Okanagan Falls, this brilliant chardonnay shows very lifted, lemon, herbs, wet stone and fennel aromatic complexity. It’s lean and taught with typical Meyer flavour intensity and excellent length. Great acidity and vibrancy and almost stony and lemony on the finish. Excellent length. Nothing cushy here!”

2014 McLean Creek Road Vineyard Pinot Noir

90 Points ~ “This home estate pinot in Okanagan Falls shows medium depth with ruby garnet colour. The nose sports quite ripe sour cherry fruit with fine spice integration, fresh herbs and a touch of earthy mossiness. It’s medium weight, initially fleshy then fairly tannic for now. Quite bitter and twiggy green. Lots of energy here. Approach 2018. Excellent length.”

2014 Gewurztraminer

90 Points ~ “From a west-facing estate site on McLean Road with 22 year old vines in the Okanagan Falls region, this has a very lifted nose of orange, spice, evergreen and lychee. It’s clean, brisk and off dry with great acidity. Quite powerful and penetrating with some gewurz bitterness. Excellent length. Sold largely at the winery, but gewurz fans should go out of their way.”
