MFV Pinot Flight
This week we had a visit from Chelsea of WineOneOneBC, Chelsea shares her story of her tour around our McLean Creek Road Vineyard in Okanagan Falls and her love of Pinot Noir!
Here’s Chelsea’s tasting notes on our Pinot Noirs:
Okanagan Valley Pinot Noir 2012
“The approachable, easy to appreciate pinot noir; a blend of several different vineyards to reflect the valley as a whole. Filled with smoky, cherry and plum aromas for every day enjoyment. 10 months in older French barrels.”
McLean Creek Pinot Noir 2012
“The grapes come from their home vineyard, what you see from the tasting room. The land here provides a certain barnyard earthiness that shouts classic Old World style. Elegant cherry and earthy flavours with a mouth watering acidity. 10 months in 33% new French oak barrels.”
Reimer Vineyard Pinot Noir 2012
“The vineyard is located in SE Kelowna, which has a slightly cooler climate, not to mention the different soil type, elevation, aspect, etc. This brings about a fruit forward, style of pinot noir, more like what is found in Oregon. A swirl of the glass brings out cherry, herbal, pepper and smoke aromas. 10 months in 33% new French oak barrels.”
